Our CEO Clinton Brewill launched MOTchecker to address the two most common issues that exist because of the lack of convenient access to MOT test information — vehicle sale scams and unintentional legal violations.

Our story
MOTchecker was launched in 2023 as an independent project led by Clinton Brewill — a car sales company owner who decided to use his vast expertise in the field to increase UK drivers’ legal awareness. Inspired by Clinton’s personal experience with drivers regularly missing their MOT check deadlines and becoming victims of unethical car sales practices, MOTchecker quickly gained traction and became one of the most trusted sources of MOT information available online.
It took our team a significant amount of time to fine-tune our tool and ensure that it is as accessible and easy to use as possible to cater to the diverse UK driver audience.
